The second, 6-inch 1080p display is located above the keyboard. The HP company says this is the first laptop in the world with “Dual Screens”. There is a dedicated key on the laptop to switch on the second display.
You can chat on your favorite apps, play music, stream videos, and monitor system stats & performance from this display.
While gaming, you can window sections of the main screen like maps to give yourself better situational awareness. You can also zoom in via this display while playing shooting games. It can give extra benefits while playing games like PUBG, Ghost Recon, or other shooting games.
Josephine Tan (HP’s Vice President of Product Management) said that the second screen feature is very much inspired by the Chinese gamer market. Su-yin Yam, Vice President of Consumer PC & Mobility said that there are currently 500,000 local HP Omen fans gathered over the past couple of years.
The HP company took the survey in past years which showed 89% of the Chinese gamers keep their phones right next to them while gaming on laptops, mainly for strategic chats with fellow gamers on WeChat, as well as playing music. The company believes this new dual-screen design will help these gamers so much.

HP Omen X 2S comes with powerful specs. It has a 9th-generation Intel Core-i9 8-core CPU (with 5 GHz overclocking), up to 32GB of RAM, 1TB memory, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q GPU, and optional Intel Optane memory storage.
The basic X 2S model comes with Intel Core i7-9750H, 16GB DDR4 RAM, a 256GB SSD, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070, and a 144Hz 1080p G-Sync IPS display.
There is a new 5-way airflow cooling system to keep this 20mm thick laptop cool while gaming. The HP Omen X 2S “Omen Tempest” cooling system includes two inlets at the bottom and three outlets on the sides.
The CPU has been also pre-applied with Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut “liquid metal” CPU thermal paste. HP team says it has the 10 times thermal conductivity of regular silicon grease.
The laptop has the latest Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) technology, Intel’s latest version of its disk-acceleration technology Optane H10 integrates the cache into the SSD. It has a backlit keyboard that has RGB lighting. Because of the dual-screen, the touchpad is positioned off to the right where the numeric keypad would normally go.
The starting price of the HP Omen X 2S is $2,100 or $2,700 with a 16GB RAM variant, a 1TB SSD, and an RTX 2080 Max-Q GPU.
